Delma K.  Taravella (Vandomo)
Delma K. Taravella, 94, of Meriden and formerly of Windsor Locks, widow of Robert J. Taravella, entered into eternal peace on Monday, April 18, 2016 surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Enfield, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Emma (Ragni) Vandomo. Delma moved to Windsor Locks from Enfield when she was ten years old, and lived there for 73 years before moving to Meriden. She retired as a Dispatcher from Northeast Utilities in 1983. While in Windsor Locks, she was a parishioner at St. Mary Church and was very active at the Windsor Locks Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, country music, reading romance novels, and playing Bingo at the Senior Center. She was also an avid UCONN women's basketball fan. She is survived by her three children, Mark Taravella and his wife Denise of Wolcott, Jane Iannone and her husband Nicola of North Haven, and Ellen Walsh and her husband Jack of Valencia, CA: four grandchildren, Lisa Dorau, Jessica Iannone, Kerri Lemmond, and Shauna Booth: and twelve great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Delma was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Vandomo. Family and friends are invited to gather between 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks for an hour of visitation prior to the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Windsor Locks.
