Obituary for Margaret C. Malec

Margaret C. (Carniglia) Malec, 78, lifelong resident of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of the late Theodore Malec, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at Hartford Hospital with the comfort of her family. She was born on June 17, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Dr. Ettore and Blanche (Goodsell) Carniglia. Margaret graduated from Windsor Locks High School Class of 1955 and was a faithful communicant of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed playing dominoes and scrabble. Margaret enjoyed daytrips with friends and family, especially her annual day at the Big E. She took pride in her home and in raising her children; once she became a grandmother, her grandchildren became the center of her life, as she enjoyed spending time with them. She is survived by her three children, Janis K. Malec and her husband, John Morra, of Wethersfield; Kathleen Bouffard and her husband, Jeffrey, of Somers, and John E. Malec of Windsor Locks; three grandchildren: Benjamin Bouffard, Alexandra Thomas and her husband, John, Grace Malec, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Theodore, Margaret was predeceased by a brother, Peter Carniglia. Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Saturday, June 11, 2016, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT. A funeral procession will gather at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Harmony Homecare Services, 243 Main Street, Manchester, CT 06042.
