Thomas B. Moriarty, 94, of Enfield, beloved husband of 71 years to
Gertrude (Anderson) Moriarty, passed away peacefully on Wednesday,
June 22, 2016, at Suffield House. He was born on April 3, 1922, in New
York City, NY a son of the late Thomas F. and Emily (Freeman)
Moriarty. Tom was a resident of Enfield since 1963 and was a
communicant of St. Bernard Church. He proudly served his country in
the United States Army during World War II. Tom was the executive
director of CT Marketing Authority, Department of Agriculture for 25
years retiring in 1987. After retiring, Tom volunteered for the
Bradley Ambassadors for the CT Commission of Tourism at Bradley
International Airport. In addition to his loving wife, Gertrude, he is
survived by eight children, Jean Moriarty of Southington, Carol
Cinelli and her husband Edward of Bayport, NY, Sue Smallidge and her
husband Kirk of Hebron, Thomas G. Moriarty and his wife Sara of
Enfield, Kathleen Carbonara and her husband Gerald of Halifax, MA,
Janet Starr and her husband Jeffrey of Somers, Christine Moriarty and
her husband Howard Oven of Belmont, MA, and Mary deVecchis and her
husband John of Storrs; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and
a sister Elizabeth Muller of Spring Hill, FL. Relatives and friends
may join the family for calling hours on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from
3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road,
Enfield, CT. A prayer service and remembrances will follow the
visitation at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard Church (please
meet at church). Burial with military honors will follow in St.
Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to
CT Audobon Society or the charity of the donor's choice. For
