Jean M.  Berger (MacDonald)
Jean (MacDonald) Berger, 84, of Enfield loving wife of 52 years to the late Paul R. Berger entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family. Jean was born May 5, 1932, in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late James and Edith (Bronson) MacDonald. She was a graduate of Weaver High School Class of 1951. She was employed as a Records Clerk in LTD Claims with the Phoenix Life Insurance CO for several years retiring in June of 1996. Jean was a faithful member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enfield where she formerly served as a Deaconess and sang in the church choir. Jean was also a member of the Joy Singers group. Jean will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family and her church unconditionally. She is survived by her two children, Chris Berger and his fiancé, Karen Fitzgerald of South Lyme, and Laura Berger-Zirolli of Enfield. Jean is also survived by six grandchildren, Gabrielle, John and Carissa Zirolli, and Jack, Abby and Maggie Berger; a niece, Karen MacDonald and nephew, Brian MacDonald. Jean was predeceased by a son, Keith Berger and a brother, James MacDonald. There are no calling hours. A funeral service for Jean will be celebrated on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 11 am at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1518, King St. (Route 5) Enfield, CT. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels.
