She was predecease by her husband Napoleon, a twin sister Doris Lajoie, and 5 brothers, Ted, Paul, Douglas, Francis, and Melvin.
She is survived by three daughters, Gail Krasinski and husband Steve of Somers, Karen McGuire and husband Michael of Enfield, Joyce Tomaszek and late husband Chet of East Lyme, and one son Robert Thibodeau and wife Dee of Somers She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. She was a charter member of the singing group Enfield Gold Tones, and remained actively singing to the age of 90 . She loved to dance, knit, crochet and tatt. Dorothy was an avid walker which helped her achieve a long life. As a young girl she would walk from her home in Scitico, to Riverside Park, to swim in their gigantic pool and enjoy their rides, then walk back home. She was born in Somers, in a white house across from the current Fire House. Dorothy lived in Enfield, however through the Holmes family, she had many relatives in Somers. At a young age she would ride the trolley from Enfield to Somers to visit her Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, and her grandmothers ice cream shop.
She was a brave adventuress woman well before her time. She rode motorcycles, flew in a bi-plane at Eastern States with her father, flew in a hot air balloon at age 85, rode sea-doos at 95. Her one regret, that she did not sky dive with her grandson Mark.
