Lois (Tierney) DesRosiers, 87, of West Hartford, CT loving wife of 60 years to the late Richard E. DesRosiers passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Lois was born September 6, 1929, in Springfield, MA the daughter of the late John and Naomi (Cullen) Tierney. Lois retired from the former Westvaco, Corp in the US Envelope department as an accountant. She volunteered for several Hospice programs in Enfield and in Venice, FL and also with the Pink Ladies at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Enfield. Lois and Richard were snowbirds spending the winters in Venice, FL. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she will be remembered for her beautifully crafted cross-stitch pictures, her knitted afghans or her crocheting. Lois is survived by her daughter, Wendy Hietala and her husband, Gary of Enfield; her son, Richard DesRosiers and his wife, Fran, of South Carolina; her daughter, Terry Gould and her husband, Larry, of East Otis, MA; and her daughter and caregiver, Nancy Goodyear of West Hartford; 10 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Hajec, Gail Smith, Gerry Gates all of Enfield and several nieces and nephews. Lois was predeceased by a brother, John Tierney. Lois’ family would like to thank her Jennifer Ross, her APRN and the staff with Prime Healthcare, Inc., for the wonderful and compassionate care she received. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave. (Rt. 190), Enfield. Interment will follow in St. Patrick King Street Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082 or to faithhopeandjoy.org
