Robert L. "Bob" Henry, Sr., 94, of Enfield and loving husband of 69 years to Mildred (Cote) Henry entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Baystate Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Bob was born August 7, 1922, in Collinsville, CT the son of the late Leon and Henrietta (Burguiere) Henry. Bob proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in November of 1945. He was employed as a Millwright with Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield from which he retired in 1984 after 32 years. He was a parishioner of St. Bernard's Church. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and splitting wood. Bob was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball. He also enjoyed woodworking and tending to his vegetable garden. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his five children, Linda Scagni and husband, Robert of East Longmeadow, MA, Larry Henry and wife, Candie of Murrysville, PA, Robert Henry, Jr. of Enfield, Colleen Maniscalco and husband, Mark of Somers and Terry Schermerhorn and husband, Steve of Enfield; his four grandchildren, Crystal Henry, Lauren Banas and husband, Joslyn, Eric Perron, Michael Henry and wife, Keri; five great grandchildren, Luke, Paul and John Banas, Willow and Theo Henry; his brother, Clifford Henry and wife, Marlene. Bob was predeceased by a sister, Bernice Wirowek and a daughter-in-law, Charlene Henry. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, October 12, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will gather on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at 10 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery in Enfield. Memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be made to the Enfield Food Shelf, P.O. Box 699 Enfield, CT 06083-699.
