Obituary for Frank C. Lanati Sr.

Frank C. Lanati, Sr. 91, of Windsor Locks loving husband of the late Sophie (Piktel) Lanati entered into Eternal Rest on July 24, 2018, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his family. Frank, a lifelong resident of Windsor Locks, was born November 6, 1926, the son of the late Emilio and Anna (Casinghino) Lanati. Frank proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed as a machinist with Hamilton Standard from which he retired after 38 years. Frank was an avid outdoorsman and longtime member of the Suffield Sportsmen's Association. He was a member of the Windsor Locks Senior Center, a lifetime member of the Smalley Brothers V.F.W. Post 6123 of Windsor Locks, and a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Church. Frank enjoyed fishing and tying flies, reading, making puzzles, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Boston Red Sox, and especially the UCONN Women’s basketball team. He also enjoyed gardening and tending to his roses. Frank will be forever remembered as a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by a daughter, Ann-Marie (Lanati) Montemerlo and her longtime companion Richard Dalton, Jr. of Waterbury; two grandchildren, Mark Anthony Montemerlo and his companion Nikki Knowler of FL, and Gina Maria Centeno and her husband Javier Centeno Jr. of AZ. He also leaves several cousins.
In addition to his wife, Sophie, he is also predeceased by his son, Frank Lanati, Jr. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday July 26, 2018 from 5 - 7 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. His family wishes to thank all the caregivers for the wonderful help and special care.
