Obituary for Josephine Tria (Romano)

Josephine A. (Romano) Tria, 100, of Windsor Locks, CT the loving wife of the late Dominick J. Tria, entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, December 05, 2016, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Josephine was born January 10, 1916, in the Thompsonville section of Enfield; the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Wojtas) Romano. Josephine was a communicant of St. Mary Church; she enjoyed gardening, cooking and UCONN women’s basketball. She will be missed for her witty and loving personality. Josephine will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who gave tirelessly of herself to her family. She is survived by four children, Donna Tria of Windsor Locks, Ann Marie Hoffman of Windsor Locks, Dominick J. Tria and his wife, Linda of Ellington, and Doreen Tria and her companion, Russell Fiore of Windsor Locks. Josephine is also survived by her three grandchildren, Adam Hoffman and his wife, Jennifer, Danielle Lanz and her husband David, and Michelle Tria; five beloved great-grandchildren, Kyle, Carter and Scarlett Lanz and Ashley and Aiden Hoffman; a sister-in-law, Louise Romano of Enfield, and several nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by three brothers, John, Frank and Anthony Romano; four sisters, Elizabeth Pignatare, Angelina Basile, Leondora Giaccone, and Anna Raffia. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial donations in Josephine’s memory may be made to Masonicare Partners Home Health and Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.
