William S. "Bill" Taylor, 87, of Windsor Locks loving husband of Evelyn (Liggett) Taylor entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at The Suffield House surrounded by his family. Bill was the son of the late Clarence and Evelyn (Stern) Taylor. Bill retired as Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a member and past President of the Old New Gate Coon Club in Norfolk and member of the American Legion Gensi-Viola Post 36 in Windsor Locks. Bill was an avid hunter and camper and loved tending to his garden, traveling and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Evelyn of 64 years, Bill is also survived by six children, William Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Patty of East Windsor, Karen Sullivan and her husband, Stephen of Florida, Lisa Lownds of Enfield, John Taylor and his wife, Kate of Bloomfield, Wayne Taylor of Windsor Locks and Beth Taylor of Broad Brook; six grandchildren, Kristine Sullivan, Stephen Sullivan, Cady Jo Fletcher, Allison Lownds, Carly Lownds and Jeremy Lownds and a great-grandson, Aedan Sullivan. Bill was predeceased by a brother, Russell Taylor. Bill’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Suffield House for the compassionate and wonderful care he received. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Friday, March 3, 2017, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral service will follow the visiting hours at 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
