Myrtle M. Pixley, 87, of Somers, beloved wife of the late Robert H. Pixley (2008), entered into eternal peace Monday, October 24, 2016 at Evergreen Healthcare in Stafford. The daughter of the late Robert and Annie (Kie) Irish, Myrtle was born in Stafford and was a lifetime resident of the Somers community. She was a longtime member of the Somers Congregational Church, as well as the Somers Senior Center and the Tobacco Valley Artists Assn. In her free time, Myrtle loved painting, wood carving, and crocheting. She is survived by her three children, Anthony Jacobsen of Woodbridge, VA, Robin Leslie and her husband Kevin of Niantic, CT, and Robert H. Pixley, Jr. of Litchfield, MN; a brother, Robert Irish of Somers; a sister, Arlene Caputo of Pittsfield, MA; and three grandchildren, Nicholas and Sarah Leslie, and Anne-Marie Rush. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Dickson. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at the Somers Congregational Church, 599 Main St., Somers, CT. Somers Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
