Alison Gibson  Teeling (Junner)
Alison Gibson Teeling, 96, formerly of Longmeadow, MA, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Suffield House. The daughter of the late George and Agnes (Gibson) Junner, Alison was born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Alison graduated from Brisbane Somerville House Girl’s High School in 1939 where she excelled at mathematics. She was later engaged to Flt. Lt. Raymond K. Gibson RAAF DFC who was lost in air operations over Germany in Feb 1945. After the war, she met Robert Teeling when he was stationed in Brisbane after returning from service in the US Army in New Guinea and the Philippines. She moved to Chicago, IL in 1947 where they were married and later moved to Queens, NY where Alison worked at the Australian Consulate for several years. In 1959, they moved to Cape Elizabeth ME where Alison worked as a bookkeeper for the Balfour Co. and made many friends in the Portland area. She took up painting as a hobby and as she developed as an artist, was able to create many beautiful paintings of the Maine shoreline. In 1969 they moved to Longmeadow, MA where Alison was the office manager for Springfield Medical associates for many years until she retired in 1983. Her husband, Robert passed away in 1974 and Alison subsequently met and married George F. Hubach in 1983. Alison & George later moved to Palmetto, FL where they at first spent the winters and later lived year-round enjoying time spent making new friends and hosting family members who visited from across the USA, Australia and England. Alison continued to improve her artwork and generously shared her beautiful paintings with friends and relations. Alison spent the last 5 years at Suffield By the River and her family would like to thank all of her caregivers there for their caring support. She is survived by a son, Christopher Teeling and his wife Deborah of Enfield, two grandchildren, Robert Teeling of West Hartford and Andrew Teeling of Enfield. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ian and Neil Junner, and a sister, Maisy Ross. Visitation hours will be held from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield followed by a funeral service to be held at 12:30 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Longmeadow, MA.
