John T. Vallee
John Thomas Vallee, 86, a longtime resident of Enfield, CT passed away peacefully, on July 5, 2017. He was born on December 14, 1930 in Shoreham, Vermont. He is predeceased by his wife, Eileen Moriarty Vallee and his parents, Earl Vallee and Catherine Edwards, as well as two brothers, James and Earl Paul Vallee. John was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Through this experience, he was provided the opportunity to travel all over the world. He met his future wife while stationed in Virginia, and married Eileen Moriarty Vallee in 1954, at the end of his service. They are now together, eternally. He worked in the insurance business for several companies over the years, including Hartford Fire, Berkshire Mutual, Middlesex Mutual, and retired from Sentry Insurance in 1992. He was a devoted member of Holy Family Parish, in Enfield, CT. John never missed an opportunity to send a card or caring note to friends and family. He enjoyed UCONN basketball, Friday night poker games (he was quite good at it!), and attending Broadway musicals with Eileen. Above all, John cherished his time with family and friends. He is survived by his four children, John Vallee and his wife, Jody Downes of Sacramento, CA, Joanne Vallee Brunelle and her husband, Gary of Granville, MA , James Vallee and his wife, Jane of Farmington, CT, and Sandra Vallee Robinson, and her husband William of Palm Bay, FL. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Eric, Jordan, and Sydney Vallee, Jessica Brunelle, Lisa and Ben Vallee, Rachel Ross, Erin Grainger, and Elise Robinson. John and great granddaughter Zoey Brunelle shared a special bond, cherishing each moment that they had together. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and their extended families. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during calling hours on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 9 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels 61 South Road, Enfield, CT.
