Our prayers are with Joan and her family. We lived many years on the same street and she was such a lovely person. We are also Vermonters and know how she had such bond with Vermont. May God Bless all of you.

May you find comfort in the promise that "... there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous" (Acts 24:15), and very soon "... no resident will say, 'I am sick'" (Isa. 33:24) because "... death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. Your mother was a constant presence in your life and you in hers. Together you enjoyed traveling to cultural places (museums, plays, antique dealers), celebrating life's joys (graduations, holidays, weddings, births) and you weathered the hard times. She never had to question whether the whole family would be there in support. They were there from near and far, making egg breakfasts, driving, being present. How you did it remains one of the mysteries of love. I am sorry you are facing this loss now. It is hard and nothing makes it easier. Accept the memories as they drift into consciousness.
