Obituary for Thomas A. Wyse

Thomas A. Wyse, 53, of Enfield, beloved husband of Deana (Marino) Wyse for 16 years, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. The son of the late John and Dolores (Brown) Wyse, Tom was born in Stafford Springs, raised in Somers, and had lived in the Enfield community most of his life. He was employed as a Math Teacher at Maurice A. Donahue School in Holyoke, MA for 12 years. A true mentor to his students, Tom enjoyed helping kids succeed in both academics and sports. Many people were touched by his commitment and dedication to his students. He was a basketball, baseball, and soccer coach. He was a gifted musician who played guitar, piano, and drums, all by ear. Tom, an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, was also a sports enthusiast who collected sports memorabilia. Besides his wife Deana, Tom is survived by four children, Alyssa Ranney and her husband Zachary, Conor Ellis, Jeremy Wyse, and Brianna Guite all of Enfield; a brother, John Wyse and his wife Tammie of Enfield; a sister Chris Fretz and her husband Jim of Medford Lakes, NJ; a granddaughter, Riley Ranney; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Jeri Wyse. Visitation hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT. Burial will be private and held at the family's convenience. Donations in Tom's memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA, 01104.To leave online condolences, please visit
