Obituary for Patricia Badura

Patricia (Maniscalchi) Badura, 91, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2017 at Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia is the beloved wife of the late John A. Badura who preceded her in death on May 14, 1993. Patricia was born on October 26, 1926 in Hartford, Ct., daughter of the late Alphonso and Rose (Todaro) Maniscalchi. She grew up in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, attended Enfield Schools. She graduated from the New York school of Electrolysis. Patricia met her soulmate John at the Polish National Home dances in Thompsonville. Patricia and John were married on April 9, 1950 in Thompsonville, Ct. They resided in Suffield and later moved to Somers in 1964. Patricia spent 16 years as a stay at home mom devoting all her love and attention to caring for their 5 children. She worked for Corbin and Gentry in Somersville for many years as a production assistant. Later, she worked at Pierce Archives in Suffield, as an office assistant until her retirement. Upon retirement, Patricia and her husband John loved going on bus trips with the Seniors “Sunshine Club”. They especially enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, New York State, The Poconos and Ogunquit Maine. Patricia practiced her faith well. You could often find her watching the daily Mass, reading and memorizing scripture from the Bible and reciting her rosary. Patricia always gave spiritual advice to those she met. She always began her day by saying “Let us rejoice in the day that the Lord has made and let us be glad in it”. Patricia liked going to the beach and the casino, playing Bingo, and doing cryptograms and puzzles. Patricia will be missed by her family and her little shih-tzu Mika whom she loved very much

In addition to her husband John A. Badura, she is predeceased in death by her brothers: Sammy, Billy, Jimmy, Jerry and Charles and sisters: Mary Nosal, Rose Triolo, Anna Padegimas, and Lillian Liberatore.
