Obituary for Richard E. Howard

Richard E. Howard, 73, of Ellington, Ct. passed away on Feb 2, 2018 at Harford Hospital, the place of his birth. Richie, this may become one of my last love letters to the most wonderful man ever in my world. Richie’s most loving immediate family was with him in his last hours and minutes of his life. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Gloria (Smith) Howard and her children and their spouses Bob and Renee MacLean, Bryan and Diane Maclean, Bruce and Shelba MacLean, Melissa and Chris Joyal, his brother in law Fred Cloukey and his daughters Tisa Heisler and Karen Thibodeau, his grandchildren John his wife Melissa, Michael, Dan, Deena and her husband Matt, Ashley and Nate, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and too many friends to mention who he all loved so dearly. Richie grew up in Greenville Maine. After completing high school he was honored to serve as a proud member of the United States Army, to serve the country he so loved. Richie was predeceased by his Mother Audrey and his Father Carl Howard, his sister Jacqueline (Howard) Cloukey his brothers Albert and Terrance Howard. He leaves his surviving brothers Kenneth, Frank and Douglas Howard all of Maine. Richie was a lifetime member of The Italian American Friendship Club of Tolland Ct. Richie was by a well-respected plumber who shared his trade with all. He will be missed by all his co-workers. There will be no services held per the request of the family. Richie, you will always be in my heart forever, Gloria.
