Obituary for Edward D. Ingraham Jr.

Edward D. Ingraham Jr., of Enfield, beloved husband of the late, Charlotte (Andrus) Ingraham, died Sunday (August 10, 2014) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Enfield on December 28, 1917 son of the late Edward D. Ingraham, Sr., and Charlotte B. (Battey) Ingraham, and was a lifelong resident. He was inducted to the Army Air Corps during the World War II and discharged as a Sergeant. He was employed by National Printers and later, by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford. He was a member of Enfield Congregational Church, Enfield and was a thirty-two degree Mason with Doric Lodge 28 A.F. A.M. Enfield. He was a member of Grange # 30, formerly of Windsor. He enjoyed sailing, woodworking, target shooting and reading. He leaves his son, Edward D. Ingraham, III of Enfield; two grandchildren, Edward D. Ingraham, IV of Manchester and Jeffrey A. Ingraham, of East Hartford and his fiancée Pamela Skidgel of East Hartford and four great grandchildren, Brandan, Noah, Cole and Ryan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Roger S. Ingraham and Dean H. Ingraham.

A funeral service will be held on Friday Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial with military honors with follow at Enfield Street Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 6:30.
