Walter Haverkamp, 92, of Enfield loving husband of Florence (WIlliams) Haverkamp passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Walter was born September 7, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York the son of the late William C. and Marie (Blix) Haverkamp. Walter proudly served in the United States Navy During World War II. In addition to his wife, Florence he also survived by a daughter, Lisa Ludemann and her husband, John and a grandson, Thomas Ludemann and his fiancé, Britney. Walter was predeceased by seven siblings. There are no calling hours. A memorial service in celebration of Walter's life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 11 am at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 20 North St., Enfield, CT. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
