Howard R. Grue, 88, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was born and raised in New Britain, CT, son of the late Benson and Martha (Pierson) Grue. Howard was a resident of Enfield, CT for over 60 years and worked as a machinist at Pratt and Whitney and part-time school bus driver for the Enfield School District. He served in the United States Army overseas in Austria during the Korean Conflict era. Howard enjoyed skiing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his three children, Cheryl Olschafskie and her companion, Kevin Johnson of Springfield, Cindy Cruz and her husband, Emilio of East Hartford, and Robert Smith of Enfield; a brother, Benson “Jay” Grue of Tolland; three grandchildren, Kerry Cassin and her husband, Ronnie of Meriden, John Olschafskie, Jr. of Enfield, and Elena Cruz and her husband, Jamie Buckmaster of Puebla City, Mexico; and two great grandchildren, Reece and Leah Cassin. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held on Monday, November 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Hazardville Cemetery.
