Obituary for Mildred A. "Mil" Henry (Cote)

Mildred A. "Mil" (Cote) Henry, 91, of Enfield, CT entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Hartford Hospital with her loving family by her side. After only three short months apart, she will once again be joined with her husband of 69 years, Robert L.Henry, Sr. Mildred was born March 29, 1925, in Enfield, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel (Dunne) Cote. She was employed by the United States Government followed by a 14 year career as secretary at Kaman Aerospace of Bloomfield from which she retired along with her husband, Bob, in 1984. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church. Mildred lived her life fully, always content with the simpler things in life. She had a great sense of humor and never wanted to miss out on a good party. Mildred was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball team. She was a superb baker and enjoyed cooking for her family. As her husband would say, "she was the best cook in Enfield." Mildred is survived by five children, Linda Scagni and husband, Robert of East Longmeadow, MA, Larry Henry and wife, Candie of Murrysville, PA, Robert Henry, Jr. of Enfield, Colleen Maniscalco and husband, Mark of Somers and Terry Schermerhorn and husband, Steve of Enfield; her four grandchildren, Crystal Henry, Lauren Banas and husband, Joslyn, Eric Perron, Michael Henry and wife, Keri; five great grandchildren, Luke, Paul and John Banas, Willow and Theo Henry. Mildred was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Robert L. Henry, Sr.; three brothers, Harold, Matthew and Arthur Cote, Jr.; her sister, Eileen (Cote) Stroiney and a daughter-in-law, Charlene Henry. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Monday, January 16, 2017, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will gather on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at 9 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery in Enfield. Memorial contributions in memory of Mildred may be made to the Enfield Food Shelf, P.O. Box 699 Enfield, CT 06083-699.
