Obituary for Cornelius J. "Connie" Brosnihan

Cornelius J. "Connie" Brosnihan, Jr., 89, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (Cleary) Brosnihan (2007), entered into eternal peace Thursday February 16, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. Born and raised in Worcester, MA, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Catherine (Donlan) Brosnihan. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was a member of the Vernon Hill Post #435 American Legion in Worcester. Connie was a resident of the Enfield community since 1957 where he and Mary raised their family. He was a communicant of Holy family Church and was very active at the church belonging to the Holy Family Men's club, and assisting with Bingo as well as many other church activities. He was retired from Pratt & Whitney where he was employed for over 40 years. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, and bowling. He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Brosnihan-Staples and her husband Steven of Dover, NH; a son, Kevin Brosnihan and his wife Madelyn of Manchester, CT; two granddaughters, Taylor and Kaitlyn Brosnihan; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother and one sister. Connie's family thanks all his caregivers, especially Tonia, for the wonderful love and support they provided for Connie. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Family and friends will gather at 9:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 at Leete-Stevens for a procession to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
