Condolence From: Kara Spaulding
Condolence: Neil, Family, and loved ones,
I want you to know that Karen, or Mrs. Yukimura as I called her, carries on in my heart and mind as well as the hearts and minds of my family. I was too shy up until now to reach out, but I thought it extra prudent to reach out now. Karen's mischievous nature, intelligence, talent, care, and appreciation for honesty are among the qualities I remember about her. I remember the first time I spoke to her. She said, "You know, us parents can be really annoying." I responded, "I know." I thought I was dead in the water for being so honest; although I only notice these things after the fact, until, much to my relief, I heard her laughter on the other side of the phone. She also came up to me after the prom when we were looking at pictures, and told me, "this is how I know you care about my son," as she pointed out a picture of me with Neil and the telling expression on my face. I relish the memories of such intelligence and deep authenticity. I know she lives on in the hearts of all who loved her, and, especially, in her sons; I have witnessed the beauty of her in each one of you in the little time I got to know you. I hope this message brings you some joy and hope, and I hope you and your loved ones are safe and happy.

So sorry to hear of Karen's passing. What a great person she was. We had so much fun doing the Sacred Dance Choir - Karen was always laughing which of course was infectious. She will me missed.

Condolence: To the entire Yukimura family,

We were truly blessed to know Karen. She was a wonderful woman who lived life to the fullest! Her zanny lifestyle is one we will never forget. She did a wonderful job raising three wonderful kids and she light up when we spoke of her grandchildren. I for one will never forget the support she provided my students at SHS. We will miss you Karen, however you will remain alive in our hearts. Peace be with you forever.
