Mr. William "Bill" Camp, 91, loving husband of Mary Lou Camp passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018m at Clapp’s Nursing Center, Pleasant Garden, NC. Bill was born in Springfield, MA and in his youth was a member of the Springfield DeMolay and Troop 4 Indian Orchard Eagle Scouts. He served as an Aircraft Mechanic in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War aboard the USS Antietam and USS Shangri-La. Bill was a graduate of Western New England College where he received his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration. He designed machinery for numerous companies, was a consultant, and traveled around the world meeting customers. During his active life he was a member of the Longmeadow First Church of Christ Scientist, Longmeadow Square Dance Club, Society of Plastics Engineers and a proud American patriot. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, hiking, bird watching, gardening, genealogy and English comedy. In addition to his devoted and loving wife Mary Lou, Bill is also survived by their daughters, Deborah Camp and her partner Richard Riberdy of Stafford CT and Pamela Thorner and her husband Garry of Liberty NC; a brother Robert Camp and his wife Lois; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Foisey. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Friday, November 23, 2018, from 10 am to 11 am at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service celebrating Bill's life will follow the visiting hours at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, family asks with gratitude, that memorials be made to Hospice of Greensboro NC or charity of choice.
