Condolence From: Linda Abrams
Condolence: Family of Red. I valued my relationship with Red at the VA in Hartford and his unfailing help for veterans whose cause he believed in as the vets tried to work their claims through the VA system. Of all the Service Officers we had to work with, Red was the most sincere and was always prepared. Much love to you all for a man I truly loved and respected. Linda C Abrams, Section Chief, Adjudication, VA Hartford, Ct.

Condolence From: Howard Edgar, Jr. & Cynthia Edgar
Condolence: To our cousins, we send our deepest sympathy for the loss of your father. He was a very special man and we have fond memories of his visits with our dad, Howard. "Red" as we would call him, truly cared about the well-being of other people, and his family was very important to him. He always had the time for veterans in need and he would go out of his way to help them get veterans benefits and services that staff in the VA didn't have the time to help them with. He also cared about the well-being of his community, often volunteering at voting locations to greet people and ask for their vote. When asked why he did this, he said he cared about the town and wanted to help make things better. You could always count on receiving a smile when you visited with Red and he was a good listener and always available to lend a helping hand. We will miss his kindness and warmth. Sorry for your loss. Howard and Cynthia Edgar

Condolence From: BOB GENOVESE
Condolence: I AM VERY SORRY AND DISHEARTENED TO LEARN OF THE PASSING OF MY GOOD FRIEND AND MENTOR, BILL EDGAR. I FIRST MET HIM WHEN I BECAME A VSO FOR THE STATE OF CT DEPT. OF VA. HE HANDLED MY CASE FOR SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY BENEFITS AND DID A GREAT JOB. WE BECAME FRIENDS AND HE TOOK ME UNDER HIS WING AND TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS ABOUT BEING A COMPETENT AND CARING SERVICE OFFICER. I OWE HIM MUCH FOR THAT. UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAVE BEEN OUT OF TOUCH FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. I RECENTLY RECEIVED (FROM MIKE GRIP OF THE ITAM ENFIELD POST) INFO ON BILL'S ADDRESS AND CONTACT INFO. I AM SORRY I DID NOT ACT ON IT IMMEDIATELY AND CALL HIM. NOW I CAN'T, AND I AM SO SORRY I DID NOT.
I OFFER MY MOST SINCERE SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES TO ALL OF BILL'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS. WE HAVE ALL LOST A GREAT MAN.
MAY HE REST IN PEACE IN THE LORD'S ARMS.
WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN, RED !!
