Donald David Deschaine, 82, of Windsor Locks, CT, passed away, Monday, January 21, 2019. Donald was born on June 13, 1936, in Houlton, ME to Leon and Annie (Bourgoine) Deschaine. Donald worked for many years at C.H. Dexter as a machine operator and supervisor. He lived for a time in Summerfield, FL, as a business owner, and as an entertainer in Kimberling City and Branson, MO, before returning to Ocala, FL to settle into retirement. He was a longtime devoted parishioner of the Catholic parishes in each town he lived.
Donald is survived by his six children and ten grandchildren, Carla Smith (Megan, Bethany) of Chesapeake, VA; Doreen Slomski and her husband Peter (Jeffrey, Amber) of Windsor Locks, CT; Lisa Dion and her husband Benoit (Joshua, Justin, Zachary) of Agawam, MA; Douglas Deschaine and his wife Pamela of Henderson, NV; Donna Meagher and her husband Michael (Bryan, Kristen, Andrew) of Tolland, CT; and Darren Deschaine of Aldie, VA; five great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Eoline Deschaine; and his sister Nancy Pion and her husband Arthur of FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his oldest son in 1956; his brothers, Normand, Leo (Gilman), and Harold Deschaine; his sisters, Madeline Martin, Geraldine Myers, Lorraine Reimers, and his twin, Gloria Oakes.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Windsor Locks at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Windsor Locks.
