Catherine M.  Spitzel
Catherine M. Spitzel, 53, of Enfield, CT entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the Suffield House with her family by her side. Catherine was born October 9, 1963, in Huntington, NY the daughter of the late Walter and Mabel (Reiter) Spitzel. She was employed for many years with Sun Life Financial most recently in their Windsor office. Catherine was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church. She enjoyed basket weaving, traveling, reading and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Walter Spitzel, Jr. and his wife, Rose of PA; her sister, Mary Poette and her husband, Bill of Wynantskill, NY; her sister-in-law, Janine Spitzel of FL; two god-daughters, Julie Airhart and Patricia Wickert; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Catherine was predeceased by her brother, William Spitzel. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will gather on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 9 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church, 64 Pearl St.Enfield. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
