Obituary for Nelson J. Cote

Nelson J. Cote, 88, of Enfield, beloved husband for 67 years to Loretta (Cyr) Cote, entered into eternal peace Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at home with his family by his side. The son of the late Eloi and Lillian (Gervais) Cote, Nelson was born in Grand Isle, ME, and raised in Madawaska. He moved to Hartford in the 1950's before moving to Enfield in 1961 where he and Loretta raised their family. He was employed by Stanadyne for 39 years as a machinist before retiring. Nelson was a communicant of Holy Family Church, and was a member of the Enfield Elks, the Knights of Columbus in Enfield, and Loyal Order of Moose in Enfield. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, and caring for his flowers. Besides his wife Loretta, he leaves three children, Deborah Casinghino and her husband Robert, Carol Baez and her husband Luis, and Lynne Cote; six siblings, Angela Dube, Roland Cote and his wife Charlene, Bernadette Michaud and her husband Don, Theresa Boutot and her husband Al, Diane Sacharko, and Rachel Daigle. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Jesse Casinghino and his wife Melissa, Justin Casinghino and his wife Nicole, William Hantzos and his fiancée Lisa, Kristin Hantzos, Rebecca Cote, Matthew Cote, and Tyler Cote, seven great grandchildren, Nico Casinghino, Talula Hantzos, Ashley Casinghino, Cora Casinghino, Elise Casinghino, Julia Casinghino, and Charlotte Casinghino. He was predeceased by two sons, James and David Cote, as well as three brothers, Roger, Joel, and Bert Cote. Calling hours will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday Oct. 29, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at Holy Family Church (Please meet at Church) 23 Simon Rd., Enfield.
