Carol Anne  Zajac DeSantis (Salka)
Carol Anne (Salka) Zajac DeSantis, 72, of Enfield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 8, 2018. Born in California on August 1, 1945, she was the loving daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (Hartlein) Salka. She was a longtime resident of Meriden and most recently lived in Enfield; she was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Napier Jewelry in Meriden for many years. She is survived by her children, Tony Zajac (Cathy) of Alpharetta, GA, Sister Frances Zajac, F.S.E. of Meriden, Leah Zajac Ingraham (Dave) of Enfield, with whom she resided, Amy (Zajac) Grabner (Mickey) of Pittsburgh, PA and Stephen Zajac (Kristen) of Rock Hill, SC. "Mam" leaves behind ten grandchildren, Christian Zajac, Marielena Zajac, Tony Romano, Stevie Zajac, Boomer Romano, Nate Zajac, Nico Romano, Josh Zajac, David Ingraham, and Carolanne Ruth Ingraham; five siblings, Francis Salka (Chris), Barbara Corbin (the late Joseph), Thomas Salka (Karen), Stephen Salka (Karen), and James Salka (Shirley); a brother-in-law, Steve DeSantis (Karen); and several nieces and nephews and their families. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Maggie Rose, who was her constant and faithful companion. Carol was predeceased by her husbands, Anthony Zajac and William "Boomer" DeSantis and her pug Mickey. She will be missed beyond words. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will gather on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 9 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
