David R. Hesse, Sr., 68, of Broad Brook, CT, loving husband of Deborah (Roe) Hesse, passed away in the comfort of his own home on Friday, March 9, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Rockville, CT on February 4, 1950, the son of the late Halsey Francis and Viola Elizabeth (Artz) Hesse. David proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the South Windsor Coin Club and enjoyed antique cars and trains. David was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and his favorite thing to do was work in his yard. He had a green thumb and loved gardening. In addition to his beloved wife, Deborah, David is survived by two children, David Hesse, Jr. and Delina Hesse; three brothers, Sonny Hesse, Barry Hesse, and Donald Hesse and his wife, Jude; three beloved grandchildren, Ashleigh, Tianna, and Anaya; his in-laws, Richard and Rosemary Roe; a brother-in-law, Richard Roe, Jr. and his wife, Diana; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Weaver and her husband, Eric; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation hours on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT 06082. A service in memory of David will be held at 7:00 p.m. immediately following visitation hours. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
