Obituary for Anthony Rosato

Anthony "Tony" Rosato, 88, of Enfield, CT, beloved husband of Antonia (Rescigno) Rosato, entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Bisacquino, Sicily on June 29, 1930, the loving son of the late Gaspare and Rosa (Spallino) Rosato. Tony grew up attending local schools in Bisacquino and at the age of 20 he went to serve in the Italian Air Force for one year. He was discharged as a Corporal. In March of 1952, he migrated to Venezuela and opened his own business. Five years later he moved to America and settled in Enfield where he started working in construction. Soon after, Tony changed careers and began working as a real estate entrepreneur, where he bought, sold and rented properties. He retired in 2003 and spent his newly found free time taking care of his yard, luscious garden, and making wine. Tony was a proud patriarch of his family and was extremely devoted to them, loving to keep them close. Another favorite past time was to watch 'The Young and the Restless' with his wife. Tony was a faithful parishioner of St. Patrick Church and belonged to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society, as well as the Sons of Italy. Tony was very proud of his Italian heritage. In addition to his beloved wife of 48 years, Antonia, Tony is survived by his four children, Gaspare Rosato of East Windsor, John Rosato of Enfield, Gerardo "Jerry" Rosato and his wife, Natalie, of Enfield and Rosa Rubler and her husband, Brett, of Lumberton, NJ; a brother, Santo Rosato of Enfield; four sisters, Antonina Gannuscio of Cromwell, Anna Russo of Springfield, Josephine Giordano and her husband, Joseph of Enfield, and Vincy Gandolfo and her husband, Stefano of Enfield and also by his sister-in-law , Margarita Rosato of Enfield; seven grandchildren, Andrea Rosato, Alex Rosato, Aaron Rosato, Sofia Rosato, Anthony Rosato, Isabella Rubler, and Jake Rubler; and one great-grandchild, Bayani Crowley. He was predeceased by his brother Rosario Rosato and a sister, Anna Rosato. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A procession will gather at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl St, Enfield, CT 06082. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery in Enfield. Donations in memory of Tony may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
