Mary B. Forti, 73, of Suffield, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Mary was born January 6, 1945 in Dublin, Ireland to the late James and Ellen McNerney. She moved to Boston, MA in 1963 and shortly after, she met and married Frank, with whom she spent the next 54 years. They raised two sons, Vinnie and Jimmy and a daughter, Maria. Mary spent 10 years employed by the Enfield Public Schools before her employment at Women's Specialty Retailing Group in Enfield. Once retired, she spent another 10 years delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels program in Suffield where she was proud of her volunteerism and humbled by the recognition she received for her dedication. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling, especially back to Ireland. Mary is survived by her husband Frank, her three children, Vincent, James and his fiancee Heather Kelly, and Maria Miller and her husband Keith. She also leaves her granddaughter Marisa, a brother, James McNerney, two sisters, Helen Stevenson and her husband Ken, and Ann McNerney, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Patrick. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct.1, 2018 at Hazardville Cemetery in Enfield.
