Obituary for Phyllis J. Dyson (Butenas)

Phyllis J. Dyson (Butenas)
Phyllis Jean (Butenas) Dyson, 75, passed into Eternal Rest this past Friday, April 20th, 2018.

Born in Hartford on November 1, 1942, to the late John and Helen (Borowski) Butenas, Phyllis lived in Enfield, East Windsor, and Windsor Locks all her life.

Phyllis graduated from Our Lady of the Angels Academy in 1960. She worked as a dental hygienist for Dr Young, was nicknamed "Pinky" when she drove a school bus, worked at the State Receiving Home for many years, was in the accounting department at Kaman Music, and retired as a receptionist from Alstom.

Over the years, Phyllis loved camping with her children and friends, enjoyed touring with her companion as a member of The Moto Guzzi Motorcycle Club, took trips with family and friends, went on two cruises, and had lots of fun with her many friends at Camporama in Vermont and at Brookridge Mobile Park in Florida.

Phyllis always had a smile on her face, a good word to say about everyone, and was a loving companion, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, in-law, and good friend.

Phyllis is predeceased by her former husband, George H. Dyson III. She leaves behind her heartbroken companion of 40 years, Raymond Cote, her two grieving sons, George "Toby" H. Dyson IV, his wife, Roya, David Katawicz, and her only grandson, blessedly born on her birthday, George H. Dyson V. Her loving siblings and their families mourn her passing: Ted and Valarie Bedard, Raina and Veronika; Cheryl Butenas; Jim and Lori Butenas, Trevor Riley, Kimberly Riley, and Alexia Butenas. She also leaves behind many grieving relatives including Suzanne Whalen, Michael, Kellie; Frank and Patty (Dyson) Kirchhof, Donna Dyson, Amanda, Melanie and Jason; Donald Palmer, Dawn Palmer Paradise, Jeffrey and Peter Reno; her loyal pup, Cheri, and many wonderful, life-long friends.

Phyllis' family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 28th. A funeral service celebrating Phyllis' life will be held at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be a private family event the following week.
