Irving L  Herskowitz
Irving L. Herskowitz, beloved husband of Anna (Bombard) Herskowitz, of Somers, CT, entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Mercy Hospital. Irving was born in El Paso, TX on March 9, 1934, loving son to the late Emmanuel and Carmen (Morales) Herskowitz. Irving proudly served our country in the United States Army. He went on to work as an auditor for Travelers and retired after 23 years. He was a communicant of All Saints Church in Somers and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Irving will also be remembered for his ingenious inventions that he shared with his family. Irving was the family photographer and loved taking pictures of his family, capturing memories that will be enjoyed forever. He was also adventurous and was known to take trips across country to visit with family and friends. In addition to his wife, Anna, of 54 years, Irving is survived by three beloved children, Kathleen A. Geryk and her husband, Steven of Stafford, CT, MaryAnn Herskowitz and her partner David Bergeron of Charlotte, NC, and Edmund N.D. Herskowitz and his wife, Christine of Cheshire, CT; a brother, Edward Herskowitz and his wife, Victoria of Mexico; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Geryk, Emma Geryk, Jacob Herskowitz, Britney Herskowitz, Carrie Clews and her husband Christian, and Katie Hoffman and her husband Douglas; and two great grandchildren, Christian and Corbin . Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street (Rt 190), Somers, CT 06071. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 on Saturday, June 16 at All Saints Church, 25 School St, Somersville, CT 06072. (Please meet at church). Burial will follow at Somers Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
