Bruce Peter  Boland
Bruce P. Boland, 65, of Enfield, CT, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 27, 2018. Bruce was born and raised in Manchester, CT. He is predeceased by both parents, John Boland and Marjory Akrigg Boland. Bruce and his first wife, Kerry, moved to Broad Brook, CT to raise their 3 daughters. After 10 years of marriage, they parted ways and Bruce remarried for a time, Rachael, and had one more daughter. Bruce is survived by his four daughters, Nicole Boland (companion Antonio Aussant) of Agawam, MA; Melanie Alaimo (husband Benjamin) of Enfield, CT; Emily Wilkins (husband Cole) of Swansboro, NC; and Jennifer Williams (husband Ricky) of White Plains, MD. Bruce adored his 7 grandchildren, Abigail Ceste, Caleb Vose, Braiden Alaimo, Mattingly Alaimo, Lily Wilkins, Ricky Williams, III, and Jett Williams. Bruce is survived by his sister Mary Hewitt of Manchester, his twin brother Douglas Boland of Manchester, and Timothy Boland Sr., of Vernon. He is predeceased by his two brothers Paul Boland and Gary Boland. Bruce will be missed by his many nieces and nephews who frequently checked in on him and visited him during his battle with cancer. Bruce drove trucks for over 40 years for various companies making many friends over those years. He recently retired, but only part time because he had a strong work ethic and had to keep busy. Bruce loved gardening, taking care of his yard, camping, watching NASCAR racing. He was a member of the Broad Brook Fire Department for 10 years where he forged many friendships. Bruce also coached, for two years 1981-1982, the East Windsor Pee Wee Little League team with two undefeated seasons. He was a collector of hats and Mark Martin paraphernalia. He also enjoyed hanging out at his nephew, Andrew Hewitt’s body shop. His all time favorite was taking many fishing trips to VT with his in-laws. Most frequently, his favorite place was fishing with John Langtange on the Connecticut River in his “Bass Master” boat named Mattie May and Lily Too. Many thanks to the Doctors and Nurses who took amazing are of Bruce; Carla, Kim, Brook, Kristina, Joy, Melissa and Doctor R, to name a few. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Smilow Cancer Hospital at 114 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Saturday, July 7, 2018, from 10am to 12:30 pm at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. Followed by a funeral service in celebration of Bruce's life at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
