June I. Wilson, 86, widow of Sidney H. Wilson, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Johnson Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Born in Wimmers, PA, she was the daughter of the late Delmar and Irene (Black) Zeiler. June moved to Springfield at an early age and later moved to East Longmeadow, and finally Somers. She was formerly employed as a waitress at the Sugar Bowl restaurant and the Plaza restaurant in Somers. She enjoyed baking, watching baseball (especially the Red Sox) and hockey, country music, and most importantly, spending time with her family. June was a member of the Ladies Fire Auxiliary in Somers and was also a member of Somers Baptist Church. She was a woman who was never afraid to speak her mind. She is survived by a son, Dale B. Wilson and his wife Susan of Somers, a daughter Donna R. Perkins and her husband Marty of Ronan, Montana, a sister, Lorraine Riggins and her husband Eddie of Pinetops, NC, a brother, Robert Zeiler and his wife Linda of Monson, MA, four grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy and Becky Avery, Jason and Amy Avery, Josh and Renee Wilson, Heidi Gilmore and Kevin Best, her great grandchildren, Jake, Zachary, Reagan, and Maddie Avery, Nick and Austin Gilmore, and Noah Wilson . She also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as a very special friend and caregiver, Judy Mann, who gave so much of her love and caring to June for so many years. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a sister, Yvonne Hanks, and a brother, Ted Zeiler. Visitation hours will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers. The funeral and burial are private.
