Francis William Chickosky, 79, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Patricia (Bergeron) Chickosky, died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 25, 1938 in Stafford, son of the late Frank and Veronica (Prayzner) Chickosky. Bill proudly served his country in the Army National Guard Reserves from 1959-1965. He was employed as a computer programmer at Kaman Aerospace for 37 years, and later worked at Enfield Public Schools for over 20 years. Bill was a longtime resident of Enfield, a parishioner of St. Adalbert Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4303 in Somers. He was inducted into the Enfield Hall of Fame in 2017 as a member of the 1956-1957 Basketball Valley Wheel Champions team at Enfield High School. Among Bill’s many interests were fishing, gardening, polka dancing, playing cards, road trips to Vermont and New Hampshire, and attending his grandchildren’s many sporting events and other activities. He was also a fan of UCONN sports and the Red Sox, a lover of the outdoors. He is survived by his children; Michael Chickosky and his wife Cynthia of Enfield, Steven Chickosky and his wife Ann of Stafford, and Lynn Nolan and her husband Tim of Willington; his grandchildren, Dylan, Adrienne, Allyson, Timmy, Tyler, Lauren, and Sarah; his great grandchildren, Summer, Teddy and Everly; his sister, Elizabeth Cicciarella and her husband Salvatore of Somers; his dear friend Beverly Forsyth, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his loving wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Frederick S. Chickosky. Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT. A procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 9:00 am for A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Ave, Enfield, CT 06082. Burial will follow in St Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or Masonicare of Wallingford, 22 Masonic Ave P.O.
