Obituary for Richard D "Dick" Cressotti

Richard D. "Dick" Cressotti, 81, beloved husband of 34 years to Nancy (Wanzer) Cressotti, entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, September 22, 2018. He was born in Hartford, CT on November 6, 1936, the loving son of the late John B. and Adele (Nicora) Cressotti. After graduating from Weaver High School in 1955, Dick proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He later made his career owning and operating Cressotti Realty. He retired from Liturgical Publications. Dick was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church, and served on the Enfield Town Council from 1971-1974. As a member of the Democratic Town Committee, and a CT State Representative for the 59th District from 1974-1976, he enjoyed politics and was a proud Democrat. Dick was an avid fan of the Yankees and UCONN Women's Basketball. He enjoyed volunteering for the Johnson Memorial Hospital annual cancer walk. Dick was a proud resident of Enfield, and will be remembered as someone who was always good for a joke. In addition to his beloved wife, Nancy, Dick is survived by his children, Terri Rachlin and her husband, Stu, of Tarpon Springs, FL, Lisa Cressotti of Enfield, CT, Karen Negrucci and her husband, Scott, of Agawam, MA, and Eric Cressotti of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Amanda Cressotti, Andrew Rachlin and his fiancée, Kara, Sydney Rachlin, and Jamie and Tara Negrucci; several nieces and nephews, including Bob Cressotti and his wife, Marilynn, with whom Dick had a special bond; and his close friends of almost 50 years, Bill and Bobbie Kiner. He is also survived by his four-legged friend, Allie. Dick was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Al Cressotti; a sister, Delphine Guidobono; and his beloved furry companion, Abby. Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for calling hours on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT. A procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial is to be celebrated at 11:00 am at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield, CT, followed by military honors. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
