Obituary for Phyllis Barile (Moffatt)

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - Phyllis E. (Moffatt) Barile, 85, of Windsor Locks, loving and devoted wife of more than 49 years to the late Joseph A. Barile, went to her eternal reward Thursday, October 18, 2018. Her family was by her side all day and night, as she peacefully passed. Phyllis was born February 7, 1933, in Hartford the daughter of the late Isaac Jackson and Mary (Strickland) Moffatt. Phyllis adored her husband, having received flowers from him each month. She often talked about him for the last 14 years, looking forward to joining him in Heaven. She was a hard worker and dedicated to her family. She raised four sons and celebrated the birth of eight grandchildren, and saw two of them married this summer.

Phyllis grew up on Sisson Avenue in Hartford, then started her family there, prior to moving to Windsor Locks in 1961. She was a faithful member of the WL Congregational Church where she also taught nursery school for over 30 years retiring in the 90's as the Director of Nursery School. Phyllis cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, delighted in Frank Sinatra and Broadway shows, and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox. She made her children a priorityand exposed them to the world- via museums, prayers, quality music, arts, cultural events and travel. Phyllis is survived by four sons: Danny and Cheryl of Enfield; Mike and Jody of Somers; James and Sandra of Somers; Joseph of Windsor Locks; a brother Fred Moffatt of Farmington; as well as her grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Tyler, Danny, Anthony, Samantha, Faith and Joey.Family would express their appreciation to Lupe Barile, and all other caregivers who assisted Phyllis during the past several years.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Monday, October 22, 2018, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral service for Phyllis will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 10 am at the Windsor Locks Congregational Church, 8 Main St., Windsor Locks. Please meet at the church. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance Fund, PO Box 105 Windsor Locks, CT 06096.
