Ted E. Pohorylo, 75, of West Suffield passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, at the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale University School of Medicine. Ted was born January 1, 1943, in Hartford, CT the son of the late John and Josephine (Fillips) Pohorylo. Ted retired from Prudential Financial after many years as a successful salesman. He was a longtime faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and longtime member of the Rhode Island Mobile Sportsfisherman Club(RIMS), he enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping, but cherished spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. Ted was proud of his polish heritage; he was a member of the Polish American Club in Agawam and the Polish American Club in Windsor Locks. Ted is survived by his daughter, Marla Sulmasy and her husband, Glenn of Old Lyme; his 7 beloved grandchildren, Madalyn, Sam, Teddy, and Lilly Richardson, Callum, Alexandra, and Shannon Sulmasy; a brother, Robert Pohorylo of Windsor Locks and a nephew, James Pohorylo of Westbrook, CT. Ted was predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Pohorylo. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, October25, 2018, from 10-11:30 am at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home at 11:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 noon at the Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd., Suffield. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
