Leona M. "Lee" (Sullivan) Bednarz, 89, of Enfield, CT loving wife of the late Walter L. Bednarz passed at on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Johnson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Lee was born April 23, 1929, in the Warehouse section of East Windsor the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen Sullivan. Lee was employed with Southern New England Telephone Company as a telephone operator assisting service men and women coming back state side after World War II. Lee enjoyed gardening and bowling with Walter in their younger years. She and Walter also enjoyed spending the weekends at their son's home in Charlestown, RI. She is survived by her loving son, Kevin Bednarz of Enfield. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service celebrating Lee's life will be held at the funeral home at 6 pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
