Denise J. (Toenniges) Swanson, 76, of Windsor Locks, wife of the late Donald J. Swanson, Sr. entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, December 31, 2018, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Denise was born July 21, 1942, in New Britain, CT the daughter of the late Carl and Edith (Schultz) Toenniges. Denise was employed by the Windsor Locks Public School for 22 years. She is survived by six children, Vincent Balfore and his significant other, Lisa of West Springfield, MA, Salvatore Balfore of North Fort Myers, FL, Michael Balfore and his wife, Wendy of Windsor Locks, Deborah Jones and her husband, Dean of Broad Brook, Donald Swanson, Jr. of Windsor Locks, CT, and Diane Swanson and her significant other, Scott of Windsor locks; 17 grandchildren, Heather, Nicole, Stephanie, Dean, Dustin, Dylan, Rachel, Kelly, Kaily, Brandon, Justice, Meggan, Benjamin, DJ, Christopher, and Connor; seven great-grandchildren a sister, Jan Cheltra and her husband, Donald of Arizona and several nieces and nephews. Denise was predeceased by two sisters, Charlene Toenniges and Shirley Walsh. Denise loved to watch crime TV with her two dogs, Charlie and Gracie. There are no calling hours. Funeral services and burial for Denise will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
