Julie Regina (Adamek) Cempel, 96, of Somers, CT, entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, March 28, 2019. She was the loving wife to the late Benjamin J. Cempel. Julie was born in Chicago, IL, to the late Michael and Regina (Weglarz) Adamek. She began her working career as a nurse at the Misericordia Home in Chicago. Later she began working private duty care with seniors and disabled individuals until her retirement. She was a communicant of All Saints Church in Somersville, and a member of Niles Memorial VFW Auxiliary #3579. She also was a member in the Polish Friends of Naperville. Julie is survived by her loving children, Donald Cempel and his wife, Dr. Karen Eggen of Valparaiso, IN, and Christine Ogden and her husband, Warren of Somers, CT; her beloved grandchildren, Erik (PilBin), Kevin, Joseph, Katherine, and Daniel; a daughter-in-law, Yuan-lin Liu of Naperville, IL; and many nieces and nephews. Julie was predeceased by a son, James Cempel; siblings, Walter Adamek and Mary Jung; a sister-in-law, Josephine Adamek; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Jung. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 8300 Thomas Ave, Bridgeview, IL 60455. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
