Obituary for Adam Henry Poirier

Adam Henry Poirier, of Suffield, a loving, fun, intelligent, strong, and deeply loved 11 year old boy, left this world much too soon on Wed. Feb. 24, 2021. His parents, Amanda Rae (Simlick) Poirier and Edward Poirier will forever keep Adam in their hearts along with the very special memories they shared together with family and friends. Whether it was zip-lining, tackling extremely difficult obstacle courses, roller skating, rock-climbing, tubing big waves behind the boat on a hot summer day, or trying to catch Pokemon in the busy streets of Boston, Adam was the energy and the fuel for the adventure.
Adam also looked forward to his time spent at the YMCA Camp Jewell where he would learn fun skills and activities sharing them with new friends he made each summer. His unwavering determination was evident when he hooked and landed a sailfish over seven feet long all on his own while on a family vacation.
In addition to his parents Mandy and Ed, Adam leaves a brother, Edward J. Poirier II, two sisters, Anna and Molly Poirier, maternal grandmother Anne Marie Simlick, paternal grandmother Doris Poirier, several aunts and uncles including Hillary and Dr. Greg Damato, April and Walter Albee, Fran and Selena Poirier,Fred and Maria Bailey, William and Veronica Bailey, Jess Poirier, several great aunts and uncles, and many cousins.
Adam was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Henry Simlick, Paternal grandfather, Francis Poirier, and two uncles, Arthur and James Poirier.
Funeral services and burial are private. To Adam, Camp Jewell meant fun and laughter.
