Obituary for Albin S. Topor

Albin S. Topor, 98, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband to the late Wanda (Wezowic) Topor, entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Chicopee, MA on August 14, 1922, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Demski) Topor. Albin was employed as a skilled machinist at Pratt and Whitney in West Hartford for 39 years, and later employed at Chandler-Evans until his retirement in 1987. He also attended barber school and owned his barber shop for many years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, puttering around his home and doing yard work, often stating, "Give me my home and I have everything I need.” He was a devoted father and cherished time spent with family. Albin also cherished his annual trips to Cape Cod and Maine. A resident of Windsor Locks since 1952, he was a faithful communicant of St. Mary Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Riverside Council #26 and a past member of the Bingo Committee. His family would like to extend a special thank you to all of his caregivers for their compassionate care of Albin during his final years.

Albin is survived by son, Robert Topor, his wife Katherine of Orange, CA, daughter Nancy (Topor) Kobos, her husband Joseph of Windsor Locks; grandchildren, Sarah (Topor) Bovberg, her husband Aaron, Jason Topor, his wife Katherine, Lori (Kobos) Sheridan, her husband David, Eric Kobos, his wife Kathleen; great grandchildren Claire, Jack, and Benjamin Bovberg, Kaley and Emma Topor; brother, Stanley Topor, sister Evelyn (Topor) Sredzienski, her husband Edward, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Wanda, he was predeceased by his brother, Edward Topor, and his sister, Stella Stroiney.

His family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. A procession will gather at the funeral home at 9 am on Saturday, April 10, 2021 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St Mary Church, 42 Spring St, Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in St Mary's Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required for all attendees.
