Obituary for Ann Marie Satterfield

Ann Marie (Burke) Satterfield 76, of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of 55 years to John Satterfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Saint Francis Hospital after a brave, months long battle with cancer and other health issues. Daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Grover) Burke, Ann was born in Hyannis, MA on May 2, 1947. She had a long career in the banking industry, retiring as a senior personal banking supervisor in 2009. Ann loved sunning at the beach and the pool, shopping and her weekly coffee gatherings with friends. She loved her trips back home to Cape Cod at least annually. Most of all, she adored the time spent with her grandchildren, or as she called them, her "munchkins". Ann was also a long time member of the Congregational Church of Windsor Locks.
In addition to her beloved husband John, Ann is survived by her daughter Frances Cooke and her husband Adam and cherished granddaughters, Anastacia and Gabriella Cooke; her brothers, John Burke and his wife Joanne of RI and James Burke of FL; her sisters, Jenay Burgess and her husband Stephen of MA, and Julie Burke of MA. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends and her extended church family. Ann was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen (2021) and her sister Mary Sarkinen.
Ann's family will welcome relatives and friends for visitation from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St, Windsor Locks. A memorial service will take place at 11:30 am at the Windsor Locks Congregational Church, 8 Main Street, Windsor Locks. Come as you are, but feel free to wear Red, her absolute favorite color. Burial will be private. For online condolences, please visit www.windsorlocksfuneralhome.com.
