Barbara A. Smigiel, 63, of the Melrose section of East Windsor, passed away on May 9, 2021.  Miss Smigiel worked as a nurse in Connecticut and Vermont and was a caregiver for family and friends.  She was a member of Connecticut Preservation Trust, International Preservation Trust, and served as Chairperson of East Windsor Historical Commission. She established the first National Register Farmstead in East Windsor.  Miss Smigiel was a graduate of University of Vermont and received her MS degree from Johnson State University and a BS in Nursing from Norwich University. She also received a paralegal degree from Woodbury College and a certificate in International Trade Law from The American University of France. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Florence (Halak) Smigiel and she is survived by many cousins and friends. Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday May 13, 2021 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield (Please meet at Church).
