Obituary for Beverly W. Percoski (Warbec)

Beverly W. Percoski, 85, of Broad Brook, passed away on November 14, 2020 at Parkway Pavilion. Born and lived in Broad Brook her whole life, she was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, class of 1952. She proceeded to serve her community in many ways, working for Hall and Muska for 26 years, Park Hill Commission, Republican Town Committee, VNA where she did Thanksgiving baskets, the State Capitol, Broad Brook Library Association, St. Catherine’s Altar Rosary, Rotary Citizen of the Year in 2002, and the East Windsor Garden Club which planted flower beds for numerous locations. Beverly loved many activities such as bowling, golfing, traveling, attending plays at the opera house, and especially playing cards with her BFF Jack Torrant. She could beat the pants off of the best opponents in any card game. Most of all she loved her flowers. With her good friend Leona of Windsor, they would travel to many places to get the “perfect” flowers to plant and take care of. She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Holland and her husband John of Broad Brook, grandchildren, Matthew Holland and wife Kerry and their daughter Kaylee of Southington, Rachael Holland of Broad Brook, and her sister Mildred of South Windsor and her niece and nephew, Linda and Stephen. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred and sons Tommy and Timmy. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Parkway Pavilion for the care they gave to Beverly. Everyone was amazing to my mother, “Spitfire Bevvy”. A special thank you to Shanique, her nurse for 2 ½ years who loved her and made her end of life so comfortable and happy.
There will be no calling hours. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 20, at 11:00 AM, DIRECTLY at St. Gabriel’s Church, 379 Broad St. Windsor. Burial will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Broad Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Broad Brook Library Association or the East Windsor Garden Club.
