Carol J Sullivan, 89, of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Daniel J Sullivan(1994), passed away April 5, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Robert and Maude (McCauley) Richards, Carol was born and raised in East Hartford. Carol and her husband Dan moved to Enfield in 1957 where they raised their 4 children. She was a stay-at-home mom and later was employed by Kaman for 20 plus years before retiring. She loved baking, gardening, reading, bowling, and sewing. She was known for her flamboyant hats during the holidays. She also enjoyed her membership in the Red Hat Club, as well as the Moose Lodge, where she enjoyed playing cards. In the summertime, Carol spent time working in her garden and swimming in her pool surrounded by her grandchildren. She was a faithful UConn sports fan, especially women’s basketball. Watching her grandchildren's sports, dance, plays and band concerts is when her true support shined.

She is survived by three children, Maureen LaFrancis and husband John, Kathleen Urban and husband Andrew, Colleen Douglas, a sister, Ann McLaughlin, nine grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Daniel J Sullivan (2022) and son-in-law Mark Douglas. Visitation hours will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. Thursday, April 13th at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels 61 South Road Enfield. Family and friends will gather at the funeral from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Friday morning, April 14th for a funeral service to be held at 11:30 a.m. Committal will follow at Saint Patrick’s King Street cemetery.Donations in Carol‘s memory may be made to the Enfield Moose Lodge, 124 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082.
