Clifton Church passed away on March 20, 2021 at Bickford Health Center in Windsor Locks of kidney disease. He was born in Vernon, CT in 1935 to Clinton Church, Sr. and Doris (Snell) Church. In 1942, the family moved to the Crystal Lake area of Ellington where Clif spent many happy years swimming, boating and ice skating on the lake, roaming and exploring the woods with his brothers and friends and roller skating at the roller skating rink. On his eighteenth birthday Clif joined the Marine Corps where he proudly served for three years attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was employed for forty years at the Ford Dealership in Windsor as Parts Manager from 1959-1999. He started out as “The Kid” and ended up as “The Old Timer”. He leaves his wife Joyce (Grosso) Church of Windsor Locks, daughter Diane of New Britain and son Thomas of Windsor Locks and Windsor, a granddaughter Alexandria of Windsor Locks. His brothers Corey of New Hampshire and Clayton (Liz) Church of Coventry. He was predeceased by his sisters Isabelle Marinelli and Dorothy Randall of Manchester and brother Clinton Jr. of Tolland. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Clif was a longtime active member of the Windsor Locks American Legion and an assistant Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed traveling and camping from Canada to Key West, and also enjoyed getting together with family. The family would like to thank the staff of DaVita Dialysis Center in Enfield for the kind and compassionate care they gave Clif for three years, and also the staff at Bickford for his final care.
